With X-ray spectroscopy you can characterize materials using X-ray radiation. Our lab uses a huge variety of different X-ray spectroscopy techniques. The ultimate goal is to understand the nature and function of inorganic and organic particles like metal clusters in proteins. Investigating and tracking for example the oxidation state or the structural environment of the measured particle gives important insights into the reaction kinetics.
